downloadAs was mentioned yesterday, Bayonetta 2, coming packaged with the first game in the series, will feature a Link costume, and some more tidbits were revealed about a it a few hours ago on the Nintendo Treehouse stream.

Check out some screenshots and details after the jump!

The costume actually changes the way that Bayonetta moves and attacks, so she will be able to use moves like the spin attack, the jump attack, the down-thrust, and multi-swing combos, which would not be possible otherwise. Also, added to the set of A Link to the Past sound effects that are added in is the item-getting fanfare. Now, we already knew that rupees will show up to replace halos as currency, but there will apparently be, appropriately, different colors of rupees for different values of halos.

Apparently, the costumes will remain worn and active in cutscenes. This was seen in the recently published trailer for this game, with the little shot of the Samus helmet coming down over Bayonetta’s face after a witty one-liner. The player can make small changes to certain costumes on the fly in this fashion, so perhaps the Link costume will be adjustable in some way as well.

Make sure to head over to the stream while you still can, to see the Link costume in action!

What do you guys think? Is it good to see more Zelda content crossing over into something as different as Bayonetta? Leave a comment!
