Speculation has run rampant within the gaming community ever since it was announced that Nintendo’s next leap into motion pictures would be a Zelda live-action film. One subject that has been very speculative is casting, and many well-known actors are being examined by Zelda fans at large. Some may be pleased to hear that voice actress Patricia Summersett has recently shown interest in reprising her role as Princess Zelda.

Patricia Summersett, who voiced the English version of Zelda in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom, sat down with videogame news outlet GamesRadar to talk about the series in general. During the interview, Summersett was asked if she would go for the role of the princess in the upcoming live-action film if given the opportunity. She didn’t even hesitate when giving the following response:

“Of course I will. I would love to play Zelda over and over again.”

And our current Princess Zelda doesn’t want to stop there either. Summersett makes it clear that she’s more than excited to get a chance to play the role again in future Zelda games:

“I’m quite connected to the fanbase now. It’s been seven years, so this is my life. It’s been three games, and I could always take more of it. I love this part of my life and the community. Not that it’s going away any time soon. It’s an absolute joy.”

It’s very rare for a voice actor to get the opportunity to actually portray their character in a live-action capacity. The most recent instance that comes to mind is the character Bo-Katan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Actress Katee Sackhoff voiced the character and later portrayed the live-action version in The Mandalorian. If Patricia Summersett is more than willing to remain dedicated to her role as Princess Zelda, then I would give her that golden opportunity in a heartbeat.
