Games Done Quick has been speedrunning for charity for over ten years. Runners for games of all genres and generations livestream their attempts, usually giving in-depth explanations of the strategies and techniques that they employ. Watching a GDQ run can be a lot of fun and players can glean useful information for their own experiences with these games. However, the true purpose of these events is to raise money for charity and support these generous causes with viewer donations. Today marks the beginning of Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2022, which will be raising funds for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and the schedule includes a few classic Zelda titles.

Oracle of Seasons will be featured during today’s debut at 9:25 PM EST (6:25 PM PST). This fairly obscure Zelda game will be played by runner TGH and represents a great choice for this event. Oracle of Seasons is a fast-paced, action-focused experience. This combination translates perfectly to speedrunning, and there will be plenty of tips and tricks to learn for your own attempts at this game.

Also on the docket is a run of perennial juggernaut Zelda’s Adventure late Wednesday (January 14th) night / early Thursday (January 13th) morning, and A Link to the Past will be played on Saturday (January 15th) afternoon. Additionally, Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora’s Mask 3D are subjects of an ongoing bidding war; the game that receives the most donations will be a featured speedrun Wednesday (January 14th) night / Thursday (January 13th) morning.

AGDQ 2022 is taking place from now until Saturday, January 15th. You can see the entire AGDQ schedule right here.

All donations will go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation (PVF). The PVF is dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection through research, education, outreach, and advocacy. This is an extremely important cause that impacts millions of people around the world.

You can watch the AGDQ stream here. If you would like to donate to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, you can do so here.
