Completely out of left field, Nintendo surprised us this morning with an announcement of a showcase of “roughly 10 minutes” of Tears of the Kingdom gameplay! Series producer Eiji Aonuma will be playing the game tomorrow, March 28th, at 7 AM PT on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
Join The Legend of #Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, for roughly 10 minutes of gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: #TearsOfTheKingdom on 3/28 at 7:00 a.m. PT on our YouTube channel.

I did not expect this announcement. I kept thinking that the Direct trailer from last month would perhaps be the last we’d see of the game before its release, but I’m glad to be proven wrong! I am a little confused as to why they reserved this content for a YouTube showcase rather than setting up a gameplay booth at PAX East, which just wrapped up yesterday. This isn’t a complaint, more a thought that there was a missed opportunity here considering they had the giant Tears of the Kingdom Link statue at PAX East.
Are you excited to finally see pure gameplay of Tears of the Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below!
