New Tears of the Kingdom Footage Featured in Japanese Ads

Even after the third full Tears of the Kingdom trailer dropped a few weeks ago, fans remain rabid for any new footage of the upcoming Zelda game. Luckily for us all, Nintendo have quietly released a handful of new Tears of the Kingdom ads on their official YouTube channel, with a few featuring never-before-seen footage of the game.
Three 30 second Tears of the Kingdom ads — with titles roughly translated as “Field,” “Action Edition,” and “Story,” respectively — were uploaded to Nintendo of Japan’s YouTube channel on Friday.
While the latter two only feature footage from the game’s third trailer, the former actually features a few new shots! The commercial shows our hero Link diving off one of the floating platforms seen in past trailers, riding a horse across a beach at sunset, and, most notably, traversing the outskirts of Gerudo Desert. As some have already pointed out, the desert — particularly the ruined statues of the Seven Heroines — looks a bit different from how it did in Breath of the Wild.
But that’s not all! Nintendo of Japan have also uploaded to their YouTube channel a longer musical ad showcasing several Switch titles, like Splatoon 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and, of course, Tears of the Kingdom. While the Tears clips are quite short, some have never been seen before. You gotta love that mushroom-spear action!
With Tears of the Kingdom now less than three weeks away, we’ll no doubt see more short ads for the game as Nintendo ramps up its marketing push. Some reportedly leaked ads have already made their way online. What do you think of the Tears of the Kingdom footage seen in these ads? Let us know in the comments below!
