Musician Aaron Grubb has released another Zelda music cover, this time with a haunting rendition of “Requiem of Spirit” from Ocarina of Time. Grubb, who covers a range of video game music, has made Zelda covers a staple among his releases. Given that many fans consider Ocarina of Time the best Zelda ever, it’s a frequent target for fan content; but remaking songs from this classic remains fresh and relevant as fans rarely tire of nostalgia and demand remains high. Grubb’s covers remain true to the soul of the originals while pulling them into the modern era with a high-production feel.

“Requiem of Spirit” will eventually appear on Grubb’s 2024 album release, Legend of Zelda Collection, Vol. 4. To read our coverage of Vol. 3, click here. Aaron Grubb has another Zelda-focused album releasing in November, A Rainy Day in Hyrule. The album is comprised of previously released songs that he slowed in tempo and pacing, before adding rain and vinyl sounds. When asked about the inspiration for this album, Grubb explained, “So many people were using my music for relaxation, sleep, and reducing anxiety that I thought I would take it a step further and try to make it even more effective for those people. I enjoy rain tremendously, so it was a natural step forward.”
