Lookout Landing has one of the more charming tracks in Tears of the Kingdom with its staccato piano chords and trilling whistles. Its whimsy combined with a somewhat militaristic quality has so much potential for creatively constructed covers, especially as the last few Zelda titles experimented with using more types of instruments.

Nick Zhang is a talented woodwind musician who created a delightfully faithful cover of the music heard at Lookout Landing. It sounds so on-point and natural it could be mistaken for the original. In his cover of Lookout Landing’s theme, he skillfully played the ocarina, soprano recorder, tin whistle, two alto saxes, and two clarinets. He had some help from a few friends, classing up the piece even more with piano and drums.

The video’s editing highlights his multi-instrumental prowess while reminding listeners how layered Tears of the Kingdom’s music is. The piece takes plenty of advantage of pauses and short stints between each instrument, but they culminate into something joyful and cozy.

Check out the rest of his content, which is sure to please any classical music fans out there — especially for fans of clarinet. Zhang has a few other Zelda covers, including the “Lost Woods” and “Title Theme from Ocarina of Time, and “Korok Forest” from Breath of the Wild.

Follow him on Instagram, YouTube, and SoundCloud and send him compliments for the incredible cover. Let us know how much you enjoyed it in the comments!
