Learn Some of the Tricks Behind Zelda Speedruns with this Hilarious Fan Animation
Posted on December 16 2019 by Rod Lloyd
Over the past year, animator ScottFalco has produced a hilarious series of shorts inspired by various Legend of Zelda speedruns. With amazing art/animation and trademark humor, Falco’s “Totally Legit” series has explored popular Zelda titles like The Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and Link’s Awakening. And as silly and absurd as each video seems, they are all surprisingly accurate to the world record Any% speedruns that were recognized at the time of each video’s release.
To better explain the actual tricks and glitches that inspired the events of his animations, ScottFalco released a “glitch showcase” video a few months back. This showcase offers text explanations and game capture for each trick depicted in both his Wind Waker HD and Ocarina of Time animations. The video serves as a great introduction to Zelda speedruns and the impressive technical feats they require. I’m already a speedrun connoisseur and even I learned something!
