Zelda Fans Are Swooning Over Ganondorf In New “Hydrated” Trend
Posted on June 15 2019 by John Piland
One of the most interesting scenes from the trailer for the Breath of the Wild sequel featured the undead remains of what many fans have assumed to be Ganondorf. This conclusion isn’t difficult to understand, what with the vivid red hair and Gerudo-style jewelry which adorned the corpse. In the trailer, we see the “corpse of Ganondorf” seemingly come to life, his decayed skin stretching over skeletal bones as his gaping eye sockets light up. Mummified Ganondorf simply isn’t a good look for the Evil King; but it seems as though a bit of hydration is all that he needed for good makeover! Fans have been creating artwork that depicts Ganondorf in a more attractive light — a trend that is aptly named “hydrated”. Judging by the artwork, it looks as though Ganondorf may put the “wild” in Breath of the Wild.

John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
