It feels like it has been so long since we’ve received any updates on the Breath of the Wild sequel. I feel like we should get a proper Nintendo Direct soon, and with it, hopefully we will see something on this highly anticipated game! In the meantime, this is a perfect time frame for speculation on the game’s mechanics because there are so many options that could be on the table. One that has been on my mind lately is if we’ll see save files carried over between games.

I think it would be great to utilize save files so that the player can carry some weapons or armor of their choosing over to Breath of the Wild 2. Similarly, the save files would let you keep some horses that you like in your stable, and if you built Link a house in Hateno Village, it would remain decorated in the same condition as it was during Breath of the Wild.

If we get to explore the original overworld of Breath of the Wild again, it would be cool to incorporate the players progress on The Hero’s Path, as it’s likely that some players still had areas of the world to discover. The Korok Seed quest could also be salvaged by using the ported saves. The sequel could offer a worthwhile prize for the player’s success in collecting all 900 seeds — but I wouldn’t count on that one!

Would like to see save progress ported over from Breath of the Wild to the sequel? And to what extent would you like to see it implemented? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
