Daily Debate: What’s Your Most Unpopular Opinion In Relation To The Zelda Series?

If I could say one thing about the Zelda fanbase, it’s that we’re an opinionated lot. We like to discuss the finer details of the series, and we certainly don’t shy away from a debate, especially when our opinion isn’t very popular. Whether we’re talking about our favorite Zelda title, the next upcoming game, or all that’s in between, we’ll tell you exactly how we feel, and you can bet we will be passionate about it!

One of the most unpopular opinions I’ve heard in relation to our favorite series is that Ocarina of Time remains the best Zelda game to date. For some reason, people just don’t think this is an acceptable opinion, especially after playing Breath of the Wild. While I understand that Breath of the Wild is the most ambitious Zelda title to date, I actually agree that it isn’t the best. Other unpopular opinions I’ve seen are in praise of Skyward Sword’s motion controls, or in disdain of The Wind Waker’s toon-like design.

My own unpopular opinion is that I don’t want to play as Princess Zelda in Breath of The Wild 2. I’m quite happy to adventure through Hyrule as Link, the way I always have. I’d say I’m rather attached to him as the operative hero, and I don’t want to let that go. You could call me a traditionalist of sorts! Lots of people are excited for a playable Zelda though, so my opinion goes down like a lead balloon.
