Spoiler Warning: The article contains spoilers for the ending of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The comment section may also contain spoilers for the end of the game.

We are going on 3 months since the release of one of the most anticipated games of the century. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been an absolute delight to play through and I already wish I could experience it for the first time again. It was an absolute masterpiece with its storytelling.

However, there were some parts of this adventure that brought tears to my eyes (pun intended). I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much in a Zelda game before this one. I’m not sure if it was on account of the emotionally evocative music in cutscenes or the connection we already established with many of the characters returning from Breath of the Wild, but I was exhausted from this emotional roller coaster. In the best way.

The first moment that got the tears rolling for me were the beginning sequence when Link dives off the platform and the main theme kicked in and the title screen appeared. There was something about that moment that just gave me all the feels. I was finally going on the adventure I waited years for! Another part that made me tear up was, you guessed it, the reveal of Zelda being the Light Dragon. The build up to her sacrifice was so intense and Link retrieving the Master Sword from her later just brought a whole flood of water works from my eyes.

Finally, near the end of the game, when Ganondorf becomes the Demon Dragon, I can’t help but choke up when the Light Dragon comes to Link’s aid. And again when he dives one final time to successfully grab Zelda’s hand, redeeming himself from the beginning of the game. Their loving relationship is perfection in this universe.

This game already means the world to me and brought so many emotions to the surface. I loved it! What about you? Did Tears of the Kingdom bring you to tears? What moments got you the most? Let me know in the comments!
