Many of us have likely put hundreds of hours into Tears of the Kingdom, some have definitely 100% it by now (or gotten as close as we’d like to that). I’ve spent about 255 hours myself exploring, and still have so much left to do. Exploring new areas in the game like the Depths and Sky has been cool, but finding out how places we were acquainted with from Breath of the Wild have changed was more thrilling to me. I’ve returned to many of my absolute favorite locations out of curiosity, and to make sure they are even still intact. Now that I know the status on my favorite spots, I’m wondering what other peoples favorite spots are, and how they havs faired in Tears of the Kingdom?

Earlier in the year I asked a similar question on X (formerly known as Twitter), I wanted to know what people considered their personal favorite spot from Breath of the Wild. I hoped people would narrow responses down to somewhere really specific. Rather than giving a broad answer like, “I love the Akkala Region,” I was looking for something more like, “I love standing atop Akkala Ancient Tech Lab looking out towards East Akkala Plains!” As a bit of a bonus for getting that specific, I would go to those spots myself and do a painting of the location if it interested me. A lot of different places were picked by people, and I went to a lot of them, some were areas I had never really spent much time in. It was a fun experience overall!

With all the changes to Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom due to The Upheaval, some spots are altered to some degree, maybe even completely gone. I’m curious to find out how people’s favorite spots are now! My favorite spot in Breath of the Wild was standing on Faron Tower looking northwest to the nearby cliff that had a group of Lizalfos dancing around some Hearty Durians. As for that location in Tears of the Kingdom: Faron Tower is gone, the cliff is still intact, the area where the Lizalfos were is relatively untouched besides some fallen Sky debris. It seems the Lizalfos must have moved their dance party elsewhere, probably because they were bummed that Hearty Durians no longer exist (me too buddies… me too.) A new enemy to Tears of the Kingdom awaits on the cliff now!
