Caption Contest 409: And Now for Something Completely Different…
Posted on May 20 2024 by Rod Lloyd
What is happening, Zelda fans?! Are you ready to start the week off with another ZD Caption Contest? After over a year of exclusively Tears of the Kingdom screenshots, it’s finally time for the contest to once again feature some other types of images. There are over 20 other Zelda games out there, not to mention all the left-field Zelda images we can pull out of our hat. In fact, let’s take a look at one such photo in this week’s contest.
Last Week’s Contest:
Last week, in honor of Tears of the Kingdom‘s first birthday, we kicked off a very special edition of the Caption Contest. The first-place winner in each of our contest categories below will win something from the Zelda Dungeon prize bag! Thanks to everyone who participated in the contest last week. Every single submission was fantastic!
Here are our photo caption winners:
By: L3XI0 (Winner of a Prize)
By: bumhobo33
By: Fierce Deity Link
Here are our photoshop caption winners:
By: Princess-Zelda-of-Hyrue (Winner of a Prize)
By: pyridiss
By: Link
By: HEreCTOR
By: Otwl
Here are our non-photo caption winners:
- Danny Hall: *record scratch*
Zelda: Yup. That’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here. Well, it all started with a stroll under the castle with that hunk who is diving for me… (Winner of a Prize) - Linebeck II: It’s times like this you wish you had a pair of clawshots
- Crescendo 64: Link: When the Fortune Teller told us we might “fall in love,” this isn’t really what I had in mind…
- Happy Mask Employee: Ah yes. The classic “catch them in midair only to realize you are falling too.” Most romantic thing you will ever attempt, especially considering how you may not be able to do anything else after you land…
- IceRod: Zelda = The Nintendo Switch
Link = Nintendo trying to keep the Switch alive long enough to keep profits going until the new system arrives AND simultaneously beat the PS2’s lifetime sales numbers
This Week’s Contest:
Let’s-a go!
Here are the guidelines:
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
- If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
- Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows? Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
