During the holiday season of 2017, Nintendo released a special version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild called the “Explorer’s Edition.” This edition included a copy of the acclaimed Zelda title, a map of Hyrule, and a 100-page Explorer’s Guide, which contained art and information about “important locations in the game, story lore, characters, and more.” While this Explorer’s Guide has been made available physically from the My Nintendo Store and elsewhere since 2017, the book has largely been exclusive to those who bought the Explorer’s Edition.

With Tears of the Kingdom just around the corner, Nintendo has begun a huge marketing push for its Switch predecessor, in hopes that old fans will revisit the world of Breath of the Wild before the new adventure or that new fans will experience the game for the first time. To that end, Nintendo has made available a digital version of the Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide for free on the official Zelda website.

The .pdf download of the Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide is available right here.

The guide’s nearly 100 pages (44 .pdf pages) are filled with introductory information about Breath of the Wild, including story breakdowns, character introductions, and information about controls and mechanics. The contents may not be so rousing to Zelda veterans, but they should prove helpful to those venturing into Breath of the Wild‘s Hyrule for the first time.

What do you think? Will you be downloading this digital version of the Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide? Do you have the physical version from the Explorer’s Edition? Let us know in the comments below!
