This Synth-Filled Zelda Fan Album Brings an 80’s Sound to the Land of Hyrule

The 1980’s were a magical time in terms of music, fashion, iconic movies, and the generation of video games that would change everything. The 80’s brought us the introduction of The Legend of Zelda, which has become synonymous with the timeless fantasy and adventure. However, thanks to a new collaboration between Helynt and Dj Cutman, the Zelda series and its music has been completely reimagined with the trademark 80’s sound.
Known as The Legend of Synthwave, this concept album takes the Zelda music you love and gives it some synth flair. The official description for this album describes it best:
Legend of Synthwave is a Legend of Zelda concept album, re-imaging classic game soundtracks into a cyberpunk soundscape. If Zelda was a feature film in the 80’s, this would have been its soundtrack.
Helynt, best known for his previous synthwave album Mario & Chill and his latest work Super Lofi World, is a guitarist and composer from Italy who collaborated closely with Dj Cutman in Philadelphia to create the music for the Legend of Synthwave.
The Legend of Synthwave includes music from games like Breath of the Wild, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, A Link to the Past, and the original The Legend of Zelda.
Now only is the album available to listen to on the official GameChops YouTube channel, but on Spotify and Apple Music as well. The Legend of Synthwave is also available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play, and Beatport.
