— In-Game Description.[1]

The Octo Ring is a Magical Ring that Link can obtain in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. In both Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Link can acquire the ring by planting a Gasha Seed and finding it within a Gasha Nut. He can also acquire it in a Seed Ring form by bumping into Maple.

In Oracle of Ages, the Octo Ring is one of the many rings Link can acquire in the Lynna Village Shooting Gallery. The mini-game costs 10 Rupees to play. If Link scores 350 or more points, he will earn a Seed Ring as his reward. Several different rings are available as a reward, including the Blue Holy Ring.

In Oracle of Seasons, the Octo Ring can be found within a Cave, located in Holodrum Plain. The cave is found in the water southwest of Gnarled Root Dungeon. From the dungeon, head down a screen, left two screes, down a screen, and left a screen. Swim into the cave and open the Treasure Chest to find a Seed Ring, which becomes the Octo Ring when appraised.

When Link wears the Octo Ring, he will transform his physical appearance into that of an Octorok. While in Octorok form, Link will be unable to use any weapons. Using the ring has very little practical use at all and it's just another ring for collection purposes. While in Octorok form almost all the regular characters in the world will not communicate with Link. Strangely, if Link enters certain shops, even if the ring is equipped, he will automatically transform back into standard form.

Strangely, when the Octorok Ring is worn by Link, he becomes immune to getting sucked in by Like Like enemies.
