Link’s Awakening

I have added another Japanese guide from Link’s Awakening to the Strategy Guides section of the website.

This guide was published by Futabasha, of which the DX version of the guide was recently uploaded a few weeks backs. This guide offers a whole new set of artwork for the game, which is quite different from any of the artwork found in the official Nintendo guide or the DX Futabasha guide. It has much more of an anime look to the artwork. I’m not particularly found of the art, but it does look okay. I’ll likely get high quality scans and renders available in the future.

While we recently completed the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough for Zelda Dungeon, that doesn’t mean this guide isn’t worth looking at. Since it is in Japanese, most of us English speaking viewers are not going to be able to read any of it. However, you can get a good idea of the walkthrough and the appendixes just by glancing through the various screenshots.

I should be adding more miscellaneous strategy guides from the older Zelda titles in the coming weeks, including a few more Link’s Awakening imported guides that I’ve recently gotten my hands on.

At long last, I have finished the last chapter of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough. In this chapter we go inside the Wind Fish’s Egg and destroy the Nightmare. Then– well, you’ll just have to see for yourself.

Chapter 6 of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough has been released. This time we go through the Face Shrine and get the Coral Triangle.

It includes the Boomerang, which you can use to kick some serious– fill in the blank. It also includes discovering the biggest mystery about Koholint Island, and going into the mysterious Face Shrine. So go check it out, and have a fun school year…. not.

A few weeks back I purchased a rare Link’s Awakening Japanese Strategy Guide. It arrived in the mail and I’ve fully scanned it and it is now available for viewing right here at Zelda Dungeon. The release of the guide is part of an ongoing project here at Zelda Dungeon to try to get a collection of old and rare guides and magazines. This particular guide does not have too much rare artwork, but it still has a few images that are exclusive to this particular guide. Additionally, it has some great listings at the end of the magazine, including a full enemy guide that has Japanese enemy names for each listing. In the coming weeks I will likely have high quality scans of all the artwork found within this strategy guide.

After finishing the amazing Link’s Awakening Enemy Guide, it’s my turn to release some Link’s Awakening content for the site’s 8th birthday. I have released two, not one, but two chapters of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough.

These chapters get us through the Color Dungeon, getting the powerful Boomerang, a ton of shells and hearts, and much more. Enjoy and happy birthday Zelda Dungeon.

I’m happy to say that the Link’s Awakening Enemy Guide is now complete. After many months of work on this, we’re finally releasing this guide. In this guide you’ll find a complete list of every enemy in The Legend of Zelda:Link’s Awakening. There is also an in-depth description for each enemy, along with lots of useful information such as their attacks, number of hits, and location in the game.

Chapter 3 of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough is now up and running. This chapter covers a lot of items such as Heart Pieces and Secret Seashells, breaking in to Kanalet Castle, and obtaining the third instrument of the sirens, the Sea Lily’s Bell.

Until Chapter 4 is released to the public, keep yourselves busy with the newest chapter. See you all on the forums!

~ Chapter 3 – Key Cavern ~

Chapter 2 of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough is now up. This part of the walkthrough covers getting BowWow back, and obtaining the Conch Horn in Key Cavern. For those of you who read my last post for the Chapter 1 update, I made a promise that this one wouldn’t take as long as the last one, well, I kept it.

In other news, I am going to Colorado on Wednesday, July 1st. During that time I will not be able to work on more content, or visit the site. I will be coming back on the 15th of July. See you all in a few weeks.

Link’s Awakening Walkthrough – Bottle Grotto

It is my pleasure to announce that the first chapter of the new Link’s Awakening Walkthrough is now complete. We’ve completely scrapped the old walkthrough and now have a new and improved look to it. So head on over and check out chapter 1 of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough.

I cannot guarantee the time when chapter 2 will be released, but I know it won’t be as long as the last one. =P

An interesting video of Link’s Awakening was found today on the web. This isn’t your ordinary Link’s Awakening video though, this time it’s in 3D! The video only shows of what looks to be Mabe Village, but it shows a lot of promise.

Hi everyone. My name is Brandon and recently I have become a staff member of Zelda Dungeon. I look forward to helping out the site, as well as meeting all of you =p.

For the past couple of weeks I have been secretly working on content for Link’s Awakening. I have just finished the new Trading Sequence section, which has been re-done and now contains better descriptions and pictures. Like the rest of the Link’s Awakening section, the walkthrough will be scrapped and replaced with a better one shortly.
