Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is a very unique title in the series because of its once-off utilization of side-scrolling and the role-playing mechanism of levelling by gaining experience points. A lot of people claim that this popular NES game is also the hardest to achieve success in. Whatever your thoughts are about a certain title in the Zelda series should not change the fact that it is always exciting when Nintendo releases one from the franchise to be available for purchase. 3DS ambassadors should already have Zelda II: The Adventure of Link firmly implanted into their handhelds but for those in Europe who bought their 3DS systems after Nintendo slashed its price now is your chance to play the game on the go.

Nintendo will be releasing Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on the 3DS Virtual Console starting from next Thursday, September 13th for the inexpensive price of 4.5 pounds. Here is a description that Nintendo UK has provided about the game.

This direct sequel to the original The Legend of Zelda is famed for taking the series in a new direction, while also introducing elements that would become standard in future Zelda games.

In Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Link must seek the Triforce of Courage and awaken Princess Zelda from a sleeping spell. Meanwhile, Ganon’s minions are trying to resurrect their master.

Zelda II uses a side-scrolling view and overworld map, and features role-playing aspects that are unique to the series.

The only other region Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has been released to all 3DS owners currently is in Japan where it has been available for a couple of months. I strongly recommend our European readers who do not own this game to purchase it next week and see for themselves the masterpiece it is.
