For past fanart spotlights, I’ve tried to avoid featuring more than one piece of art at a time. However, Polish artist Krystian has created such a beautiful set of The Wind Waker inspired pieces that I feel as though they are best viewed as a collection.

These pictures are obviously very influenced by the official art for the cel shaded games (particularly The Wind Waker and Four Swords), but don’t let that fool you into thinking he is simply mimicking the style. The expressions and use of movement in the characters in these digital art pieces I believe surpass that seen in the official art. My favorite part, however, has to be how Krystian has brilliantly translated that thick lined style, to apply to the background line work. Along with the way he sometimes warps the perspective of the backgrounds to fit his more circular compositions, which really unifies the the pictures.

All of these images area fantastic, and I especially was blown away by his ability to translate Majora’s Mask characters and locations from a game that was not even a cel-shaded into The Wind Waker’s style. He has many more Zelda pictures, along with other art pieces at his gallery, so make sure to go check it out. Also leave us your thoughts on today’s fanart spotlight in the comments below!
