How time flies! It certainly doesn’t seem like 12 years ago the The Wind Waker was being unveiled for the GameCube. It was a great game and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the HD remake. However, I’m sure we all remember the tech demo shown at Space World 2000 that was known as ‘Zelda 128’ which showed off a dark, gritty, realistic Zelda game and a lot of people were hoping was going to turn into the…

One of our sister sites, GenGAME, has recently published an article that explores Nintendo’s apparent obsession with making Zelda games that have not so popular art styles. With The Wind Waker HD being released for the Wii U soon, Alex Plant at GenGAME wonders why in the world Nintendo would even go close to the cel-shaded Toon Link again, considering the controversy of The Wind Waker when it first released. Hit the jump to see what’s in store!

In a recent interview with TIME magazine, veteran producer Shigeru Miyamoto gave his insights and opinions into the future of Nintendo, mostly concerning the Wii U console and its recently showcased competitors at E3. At the very end though, Miyamoto was briefly questioned on the distinctive art style of The Wind Waker and whether it could see a return in the future beyond its HD remake releasing later this year. His response, while not definite, left a lot of room…

For past fanart spotlights, I’ve tried to avoid featuring more than one piece of art at a time. However, Polish artist Krystian has created such a beautiful set of The Wind Waker inspired pieces that I feel as though they are best viewed as a collection. These pictures are obviously very influenced by the official art for the cel shaded games (particularly The Wind Waker and Four Swords), but don’t let that fool you into thinking he is simply mimicking…

YouTube member Habboi recently uploaded a video of their personal project, a complete recreation of the magical kingdom of Zeal from the Super Nintendo game Chrono Trigger. He managed to capture the entire look of all four islands, the three cities, and even the parked blackbird and blue sealed pyramid. Every little detail was included and displayed in The Wind Waker’s cel-shaded graphics style. Within the video we look at all the different regions of the islands from all corners…

Ever wonder what Majora’s Mask would look like if it was cel-shaded? Lucky for you, Youtube user Oehr64 has uploaded a video showing a cel-shaded texture mod for Majora’s Mask. The texture is showcased throughout various Majora’s Mask cut scenes. The mod looks very nice, it gives the game a brighter, more whimsical look. While it isn’t as toon-like as Wind Waker, it adds detail while also making the game appear very colorful. Make the jump to check out the…

Well hello guys! So finally I’ve got a new mailbag video. This one’s all about Skyward Sword, the new Zelda game. There’ll probably be a focus on Skyward Sword for the next couple weeks. That and the new Ocarina of Time remake on the 3DS. Also, a congratulations and thank you to Zeruda on the Zelda Dungeon forums for winning the Curiosity Shop Logo Contest! Here are the questions and their timestamps: (00:38) – What do you think of Skyward…

Mailbag time, guys! And man, they just keep getting bigger! 8 questions, then 10 questions, now 12! Yes, 12! I wouldn’t count on it always being this much, though. It was kind of a matter of the questions I got this time. The questions answered and their timestamps: (00:06) – What is your favorite dungeon and why? (00:44) – Is there a Zelda game you didn’t even like? (01:11) – What aspects of TWW did you like the most? (02:23)…
