Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on Deviantart artist SerugioSan and his Majora’s Mask fanart, “The Lost Son“. This fanart features the Deku Butler’s son. He is in the process of transforming into a tree due to the fatal curse that presumably the Skull Kid has placed upon him. This precise moment was never shown during the game, but the artist believes that this is what it looked like when the son was going through the curse.

The colors used to show the scene accurately show what the area looked like in the game. The focus of the picture is on the Deku Butler’s Son and to make this the focus the artist made the background of the picture look blurred while at the same time he gave the deku detailed features to emphasize the character and make him the first thing that one sees when looking at this.

I remember the moment when I came across this strange tree at the beginning of the game when I played it for the first time. I didn’t realize then that it was actually a deku at one point. It wasn’t until after I had obtained the mask that was required to see the ending scene showing this tree that I realized who it was. I felt sad for the Deku Butler. His only son was gone.

The artist has other artworks located in his gallery. Please go check it out. Also please let us know in the comments section below what you thought of this fanart. Stay tuned for the next Zelda Fanart Spotlight! Until then!
