Zelda Artist Exposition: Radical-Rhombus-XD

Welcome one and all to another entry in my features series: Zelda Artist Exposition. By now you probably know what it is about, but if not, here is a refresher. Each post focuses on one amazing Zelda fan artist for the goal of spreading art and love through the Zelda community. As always, suggestions for an artist to write about are encouraged. I have a fairly long list of individuals to write about from browsing deviantART, but I’ll run out someday so your input is always welcomed. However, just know my selection of the subject when I start writing is somewhat random, so I might not get to your suggestion right away, but don’t worry, I will have seen the comment. So let’s dive in shall we. Today I am writing about the artist Radical-Rhombus-XD. I am so happy to finally be writing about her. I have wanted to do one of these for her the past few times I drafted anything, but silly things kept getting in my way. Thankfully, she is finally in the spotlight.

Radical-Rhombus-XD, who alternately goes by Sgt. Pepper-chan (my personal favorite) or FauCet-KuN, has been on deviantART for an impressive four years. She is an 18 year old artist hailing from the Philippines. Apparently a student artist, her and her profile have quite the bubbly personality.

Her gallery is diverse to say the least. Her fan art covers many popular fandoms such as the video game franchises, Crime and Punishment, Pokemon, and the Legend of Zelda, and the television show Adventure Time, and even fan art of the Beatles, which is what drew me to her originally. But I don’t just mean the diversity in her subject matter, her mediums and style vary greatly. Her digital drawings style ranges from “chibi” to dramatic or moody to a typical fun anime style, like the thumbnail image. Much of her work is also very comical. Even though she identifies as a digital artist, she even branches out in her mediums with paper crafting, traditional art, and sometimes even cosplay. She really knows how to catch your attention, with her art but also with her colorful, chaotic profile. I definitely consider her one of my favorite artists, but I’m a sucker for lots of color and the Beatles. Below are some more of my favorite Zelda pieces she has done.
