If you’re familiar with the Legend of Zelda manga series, you’ll have heard of Akira Himekawa, the pen-name of the artists who bring those illustrations to life. The female duo has been working on the manga for over 20 years, and next month they plan to host a special exhibition featuring new and exclusive Zelda-themed artwork. The showcase will take place at Kyoto International Manga Museum in Japan, from September 18th to December 26th, 2021.

Akira Himekawa have published manga for almost every main entry in the Zelda series, and, along with their original artwork, the series includes new and alternative storylines to those seen in the games, and even new characters and races. Back in 2020, they released a Legendary Edition box set of exclusive hardcover manga contained in a treasure chest-shaped box, much to the thrill of avid collectors. With such a rich history over the course of the manga series, we’re sure that the upcoming art exhibition will be something really exceptional.
