20140222143318!Super_Smash_Bros_4_merged_logo,_no_subtitleOn today’s Nintendo Treehouse live stream, there were several rounds of Super Smash Bros. played, and we had a chance to see some new little details of Zelda features that are set to be in the game. These features include the Beetle, the Fairy Bottle, Midna’s assist trophy, and as a new reveal, Tingle’s return to the battlefield!

Check out some screenshots and details after the jump.

Apologies for the rather low quality of screenshots. Due to the small size of 3DS version video, and the low quality of overall stream visuals, there is only so much that can be done to make the images clear.

Starting with the Beetle, the images above show Luigi releasing the Beetle on Sheik, and it carrying her right off into the air. Apparently, the item starts flying through the air quite slowly, but if you do manage to catch someone in the line of fire, they will be carried straight up and off the screen without any way of escaping, making the item a one-hit-knock-out weapon. It has also been revealed that a player can hit the Beetle at the last second to reflect it back.

Next is a small update on the mechanics of the Fairy Bottle. Before, it was just assumed that the item was simply a new recovery item, but in some fashion, the item will be able to be grabbed and thrown, like the Wii Fit Trainer is doing here. Perhaps only some will be this way, like trick items, and others will be normal recovery items. Or, this could be a new change to the Fairy Bottle, making the player have to break it open or some such thing. This just goes to show that things in the old trailers were all subject to change.

Midna also has a small update as an assist trophy. She will not only atack with her hair, but she will actually teleport around to opponents to try and hit them. She can also be hit by players to knock her away.

Finally, revealed around the 0:41 mark of the GameXplain video above, Tingle will be returning as an assist trophy. His actions seem to be the same as before, and a lot of fans kind of wanted to see him as a playable character, but nonetheless, it sure is nice to see him.
