As mentioned in the Nintendo Treehouse livestream of Tri Force Heroes, the inspiration behind the fashion and costume themes of the game were from the item power-ups in A Link Between Worlds. Hiromasa Shikata (director of Tri Force Heroes)…

As demonstrated today in the Nintendo Treehouse livestream, there is a new Challenge Mode in Tri Force Heroes. This mode allows you to unlock the materials needed to create the most powerful costumes in the game. What makes this mode difficult is how it substitutes the items used to complete challenges in the regular mode with different items, thereby making it harder to complete puzzles and engage in…

Update: The stream has moved on from Tri Force Heroes, check out the full video inside!

Yesterday, Nintendo Treehouse teased two of the extra modes of Tri Force Heroes – arena and challenge mode – during their livestream of the title. In just a few minutes, they’ll be showing those off, and we’ve included the stream right above for you to watch along with us! Enjoy, and stay tuned right here at Zelda Informer for more Tri Force Heroes impressions from the show floor and news about the upcoming 3DS title as…

Nintendo Treehouse just played Tri Force Heroes‘ different modes, and they’ve released a few more details behind Challenge mode. Challenge mode challenges you and your friends by limiting you to specific items to defeat a monster, solve puzzles, and get through dungeons. What makes it so difficult is that these items aren’t the ideal ones to complete the level, so team coordination is key. For example, instead of hitting a switch with an arrow with ease, players are given bombs, and must make them work just as well…

Nintendo Treehouse recently wrapped up a new livestream of Tri Force Heroes, but they did so by teasing some new modes for the game that they plan to show off tomorrow. Those modes include a challenge and arena mode in addition to the traditional story mode. The arena mode seems to be very Four Swords like, as they explained it involves you and your friends facing off against each other. The inclusion of this mode isn’t too much of a surprise as it expands on Four Swords and might bring a little bit of the “fighting your friends avatar” aspect from A Link Between Worlds into play, except fighting a real world opponent…

Much to everyone’s surprise (sarcasm), Nintendo Treehouse confirmed today that there is no voice chat available in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes during the second livestream of gameplay. This means that in order to engage in cooperative play effectively, players must be in the same room or general area to be able to communicate verbally…

For those of you who may have missed out on any additional gameplay of Tri Force Heroes, you can either catch-up or refresh your memory with some exciting footage provided by the Nintendo Treehouse from today’s E3 reveal. While watching, there are a number of things to keep an eye out for, including: tips, gameplay mechanics, and other various features revealed by the commentators playing the game. Take the jump to check it out!

Nintendo released a video announcing their E3 plans today, just like they did last year with Reggie Fils-a-mech. This year featured Reggie himself heavily again, but they changed up the format to unveil something I feel like no one expected. Sure, they announced another Nintendo Digital Event on June 16th at 9 am PT, and yeah they are doing more Nintendo Treehouse live stream – all par for the course and expected. They even announced another Best Buy limited time demo opportunity, this time for Mario Maker. You know what wasn’t expected? The return…

I’ve been rocking our review copy of Hyrule Warriors practically non stop the past week, but there is actually a Game Mode that will be available day one that I cannot play right now. That mode is called Challenge Mode, a new mode added through an update in Japan and a day one update in North America. As they describe it themselves, it’s a bit like Adventure Mode on steroids. You don’t fail the missions, but instead keep getting presented various challenges and tasks to complete that really challenge your skill set…
