The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Wins Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards 2022

We’ve been anticipating The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for more than three years. We’ve watched it get nominated at The Game Awards, multiple times, for the game people are looking forward to most without knowing when it would release or what it was even called. But we now see the light at the end of the tunnel; we have a name, a release date, and even an award from a beyond-prestigious award show. Here’s hoping it lives up to the hype come May 12th, 2023.

Tears of the Kingdom was nominated for The Game Award’s Most Anticipated Game award in 2020 and 2021, losing both times to Elden Ring. Now, in what seems like the last year of the game being on the ballot, it takes the cake. Tears of the Kingdom was named 2022’s Most Anticipated Game, beating titles like Resident Evil 4 and Final Fantasy XVI.

In the following tweet from Nintendo of America celebrating Tears of the Kingdom‘s victory, we are also encouraged to look forward to more details before the release. Perhaps a January Direct will give us another trailer that showcases more gameplay for Tears of the Kingdom.
