Throughout the Zelda series, we’ve seen Link duke it out with Ganondorf on several occasions- each fight with its own means of strategy and mechanics. However, there are a couple that I would like to show off, as they are -no doubt- a couple of my favorite boss fights in video games. But of course, that led me to also wanting to hear about your opinions- so after I’m done showing these fights to you guys, I’d love to hear…

Heroes are tough. Monsters, dungeons, combat, travelling, survival – a hero, especially one in Hyrule, has a lot to contend with. But what about those they leave behind? As hard as it must be to go out on an unknowable quest to save a princess, or the world, or in this specific case your sister, the people who care about you must be worried beyond belief, and sometimes, that might just be too much to handle. Few characters close to…

It’s not very often that we hear Zelda cover songs with fan lyrics. It’s even less often than that when we find someone willing to make a tutorial and show their step by step creative process. YouTube user Josiah McDaniel has given his audience both of these with his cover of the Great Sea theme from The Wind Waker. Make the jump to check them out!

Hello and welcome everybody, to this week’s Zelda Dungeon Talks. This time around the topic is whether or not a Zelda game is at its best when the game has a light-hearted or dark theme. Somewhere in the middle of that is one of the options as well. Throughout the series, we have seen two Zelda games which are notable for having quite a dark theme. These games are Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess. In Majora’s Mask you have the constant reminder of death…

Women of Legend: Tetra

September 13 2015 by Alasyn Eletha

In the last Women of Legend the ZD staff discussed one of Zelda’s reincarnates, specifically her role as Sheik in Ocarina of Time. We were reminded that Zelda took on the persona known as Sheik in order to protect the land that she endangered as a child while the Hero of Time was in a deep slumber. This time around, we will be discussing another one of Zelda’s dual roles; Tetra from The Wind Waker, and how this time the…

Music By Pedro on Youtube has teamed up with his wife in a saxophone and flute duet to recreate the easygoing melody of “Outset Island” from Wind Waker. This talented musician and his wife really capture the lighthearted spirit of the island, as the alto tones of his saxophone…

Some would argue the most important part of the home is the bathroom. Everyone has to use it eventually and it can even offer a brief respite from every day life. Kids stressing you out? The bathroom may be your only solitude that day. Rough day at work? Same deal. That’s why when we see a Zelda themed bathroom it can’t be understated how amazing it is to bring something you love into a pretty personal space. Yes, all of that over a place where we relieve ourselves. Crazy, huh…

YouTuber Halie Atisuto has released her first ever timelapse art piece and she chose to paint a nice mural of The Wind Waker. I love all the various elements going on in the work and I have to say she did an absolutely wonderful job, especially for her first time. My favorite part of the art is Medli (though, it helps she’s one of my favorite characters in the game). I’ve never been a huge artist myself, though I did make a sweet board game with some custom art when I was younger. Aspirations of being an artist didn’t go much beyond those days, but even I impressed myself. There’s a little artist in all of us, right…
