We’ve heard that Eiji Aonuma would be

open to having Princess Zelda as a playable character in future Zelda

entries. When we wrote a letter to him, the post received over five

hundred comments. It now seems that others have also taken up this

torch. A Facebook page has been opened titled, “Nintendo Please Give Princess Zelda A Stronger Role.”

The description of the page goes on to

explain:

“Stronger” can mean a lot

of things. The character the Legend of Zelda series is named after is

the ruler of a country with the Power of Wisdom and the Gods at her

disposal, yet she’s often represented as a damsel in distress. While

she’s had great moments as characters like Sheik and Tetra, she more

often than not feels like a background character, overshadowed by the

two other Triforce bearers, Link and Ganon. Nintendo, the fans, male

and female, have wanted this for so long: please give Princess Zelda

future roles more befitting of her actual attributes. And, if you see

fit, make her a playable protagonist.

As of posting, the page has over 4,500

likes. On the page, the creator has noted that it is an even split of

males and females who are in favor of giving the Princess a more

prominent role in an upcoming entry.

To help support the cause, you can head

to the site, Like the page, and comment there. Also let us know in

the comments below if you would like to play as Zelda one day.

It’s not too terribly often that Nintendo endorses fan-made material. Granted, it’s happening more and more, as with the Nintendo-sponsored Wii U video contest, and Paper Mario diorama contest they’ve hosted in the past few months. But this week, Nintendo took to Facebook to bring attention to some fan material. Hit the jump to see!

So for the last several years I’ve constantly gotten personal friend invites on Facebook from fans of Zelda Dungeon. I’ve always been a bit hesitant about accepting these as a good portion of them came from kids and teenagers. Unfortunately in the world we live in, a 25-year old like myself, having several hundred Facebook fans of 13-16 year olds is not exactly acceptable behavior. Rather, it raises eyebrows. So I’ve constantly rejected or ignored requests, in which this has…

The guys over at IHeartChaos have come across some interesting facebook profiles. Like many other fake characters, Link and Zelda have made their way onto facebook. As it turns out, just in time for Valentines Day, they have even announced their engagement and have even posted some pictures showing off their love for the other. A closer look at the pictures even show several comments from other classic Zelda characters. Make the jump to see it for yourself.

Within the last week here at Zelda Dungeon several site milestones have been reached. Over at the Zelda Dungeon Forums we recently hit the 400,000 post milestone, at our Facebook Page, we just surpassed the 20,000 Likes mark, and just two days ago we reached the 1,300 article mark over at the Zelda Dungeon Wiki. Quite an active week indeed and that is all thanks to the fans of Zelda Dungeon. Fan involvement and interaction is truly what drives us…

Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda have both recently gotten official facebook pages. The Legend of Zelda page can be found here at facebook.com/legendofzelda and Nintendo’s official page can be found here at facebook.com/nintendo. If you visit Nintendo’s page make sure you take a look at the video starring my personal favorite: Reggie Fils-Aime. The pages are a great way to integrate official Zelda updates into your social media, and for other Zelda related updates be sure to like Zelda…
