UntitledTakashi Iizuka, producer of Sonic Lost World and the mind behind its Zelda crossover DLC, recently had an interview with 4Gamer, where he claimed that he does not want to leave the Legend of Zelda Zone as a standalone level, and would like to make more.

When asked about the development of the Yoshi’s Island and The Legend of Zelda DLC, he responded:

“In normal production, the hardest part is building up the base of the game. Stages can normally be changed simply by variations, but this time, it was shaped to be a different experience on each stage [of the DLC], which is why it took so long to complete. It’s easy for Yoshi to be in Sonic Lost World, but the music, sound, and soundtrack of “The Legend of Zelda” made the development all the more entertaining and fun. I now feel like I want to make more, rather than just simply one zone.”

It would be great to see more Sonic levels in different areas of the Zelda universe. Imagine racing through vast landscapes like Snowpeak from Twilight Princess, or in large dungeons like the Forsaken Fortress from The Wind Waker. Hopefully, Nintendo opts in for more of the blue hedgehog running about in Hyrule.

Would you like to see more Zelda DLC, or is it not worth the development time? Leave a comment!
