Skyward Sword Intro Story Video

The folks over at Zelda Informer have found a video clip of the intro of the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The intro sequence is in Spanish, but there is already a translation readily available. Obviously something of this nature includes plenty of spoilers, so make the jump only if you’d like to see the video and read the translated text of the game.

Shown below is the text of the original and translated video, courtesy of Zelda Informer.

English
1 – This is a story passed down by the people since time immemorial. (Fi speaking)
2 – The history of the most cruel and ferocious battle ever seen.
3 – From the bowels of the earth emerged the pure essence of evil.
4 – His brutal attack plunged people into their worst nightmares.
5 – The evil forces razed forests, dried up rivers and murdered relentlessly.
6 – They desired that which the Goddess protected, ultimate power.
7 – Absolute power… In other words…

The backstory seems to have a lot to do with Ghirahim’s goals within the game. As we learned from the Skyward Sword spoilers in Nintendo Power, Ghirahim has a goal of resurrecting his master. It seems clear from this intro that the evil that is mentioned is very likely that of Ghirahim’s master.

At the 1:50 mark in the video, you can see a screen cap of what looks like Zelda holding up a sword. It seems clear that there is a Goron standing next to him and perhaps a Mogma at the far right. Mogma are one of the new Races of Skyward Sword that occupy the Eldin Volcano region of the game. It’s unclear exactly who the other three characters are on the left, but I’m sure they’ll play a pivotal role within the game.

We also get a brief look at what the game menu screen looks like, the character select screen, and the very few seconds of the beginning of the game once you select your name. Skyward Sword is set for release on November 18th in Europe, November 20th in North America, and November 23rd in Japan. Be sure to stay tuned here at Zelda Dungeon for all the latest Skyward Sword goodies as they pop up.
