Skyward Sword HD Will Have “Various Quality-of-Life Improvements”, Says Nintendo
Posted on June 21 2021 by John Piland
With now less than a month before release, Nintendo has revealed more about how The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be an improvement over the original.
The game’s official website lists the following improvements over the original release:
- Enhanced performance
- Improved motion controls with the Joy-Con controllers
- All-new button controls, allowing you to choose your style of play
- Various quality-of-life enhancements, including refinements to player tutorials and general guidance throughout the adventure.
While we knew about most of these already, the last bit of information is particularly noteworthy. Of course, the implication of the statement is that Fi, the player’s companion throughout this adventure, will not interrupt gameplay as frequently as in the original, a feature which many a player have complained about. The same goes for the tutorial, which is notoriously long in the way of Zelda tutorials. Nintendo of America had previously hinted that Fi’s advice and hints would be “optional,” but this new statement goes a way to confirm the changes made to the game’s original guidance systems.
While there are no details on the other “various quality-of-life enhancements” yet, Nintendo has confirmed a new method of fast travel between the surface — including dungeons — to the sky and back. Unfortunately, this feature is locked behind an amiibo figure.
Are you glad to hear about these improvements? What else do you hope or think may change? Let us know in the comments below!
