Up for auction on ebay today is a rare Ocarina of Time 3D Scroll. There are only 80 of these in the whole world, with roughly 26 or 27 available in each of the three designs. They were given away to winners of an online competition at the Nintendo Connection Tour 2011 in Australia. Attendees had to pickup entry cards and then go online and write in 25 words or less, why they were the biggest Zelda fan. Winners then got their items in the mail a weeks later. If you ask me, these are pretty sweet collectibles and much like many of these rare pieces of memorabilia, they will likely be selling for 100’s, if not 1000’s of dollars a piece in the coming years.

This recent one has popped up on eBay and has a starting bid equivalent to $481.86 here in the United States. That’s a heck of a lot of money for an item that served as a free giveaway just 6 months ago. That being said, I think there is a good chance that it sells for more than that. There are a lot of crazy Zelda collectors out there, myself included, that shell out 100’s of dollars for these rare items. Considering there are three scrolls out there, this is going to be a costly collection for any collector to complete. I think I’ve come to the realization that I’m likely never to get my hands on all three of these scrolls, so I’ll likely pass up on this one. Heck, given there are only about 26-27 of each scroll, some of the other scrolls might never become available for auction.
