UntitledA man named Ben Purdy has created a strange version of The Legend of Zelda that looks even more ancient than the NES version. You can go to his website, and play the whole game right in your internet browser. Link, rupees, enemies and most other things are just one pixel, and the rather awkward field of view could prove to make things a bit difficult, but it is certainly worth a shot.

Do you still recognize these areas?

There are obviously some points of the original game that are missing, like music, and a variety of enemies and items – plus, the dungeons only have the room containing the Triforce shard, without any bosses – but it was a fun little thing to play. It is rather easy, given that I beat it in the course of about half an hour. Honestly, it is a neat accomplishment for Mr. Purdy to have made in only 48 hours.

You can see the full story of the demake’s creation here.

What do you guys think? Are you going to try playing all the way through? Leave a comment!
