[UPDATE: Eiji Aonuma announced on Miiverse that the games will be released in other territories besides Japan, but that it will take a while longer.]

During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, originally released for Game Boy Color, would be heading to the Japanese 3DS Virtual Console starting next Wednesday, February 27th. The two games will price at 600 yen each and will also be available to download as a bundle for the reduced price of 1000 yen. This calculates to about US$6.50 for one or approximately US$11 for both Zelda titles in the bundle.

Oracle of Seasons and Ages will only be available to purchase from February 27th until March 20th from the Japanese 3DS Virtual Console.

Wondering if these games will be released in other territories? The answer is yes! Jump inside for the quote from Mr. Aonuma!

Eiji Aonuma has been posting on Miiverse with tiny teases about the new Zelda Wii U and such. Today he mentioned that they only have release dates for the Oracles games for Japan, the two games will certainly appear in other territories.

“The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/ Oracle of Ages will be released for Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS in Japan, but it’ll be a little while longer until they’re out in other territories. We’d like to ask for your patience until they’re ready for release. Thank you!”

It looks like we might have a bit of a wait, but it’s reassuring to hear that they won’t be Japanese exclusives like so many other Virtual Console releases have been as of late.

Are you excited to see these games on Virtual Console? Have you even had the chance to play these before? Let us know in the comments!
