You heard that right. Zelda tribute band Master Sword have been working hard on their new album — The Final Door. They launched a Kickstarter campaign back in November to help pay for the costs associated with making a professional album. Matt Farkas, the band’s keyboardist, explains that: “Like all the money we earn, nothing goes into our own pockets, but rather straight back into the band to make the next album, t-shirt line, music video or live show even better than the previous one. This is a labor of love for us, as we’re all huge fans of The Legend of Zelda and making interesting, complex music. It just seems like a great pairing!”

Master Sword are tantalizingly close to their final target of $16,000, and feel that they are in a unique position to give something new to the Legend of Zelda fan base.  For Zelda and fans of power metal music, the seven-song album with original vocals has familiar Legend of Zelda melodies and lyrics inspired by stories from the series. “The music we’re using as inspiration include Zelda 2‘s Palace theme, Ballad of the Goddess, Shadow Temple, Fairy Fountain, and the trailer music for Breath of the Wild. We’re also including our latest single, The Forsaken Tribe, which is based off of Gerudo Valley from Ocarina of Time.”

If you’d like to help Master Sword to clear the dungeon, you have until Friday 9th August! You can contribute to the Kickstarter right here.
