As many are aware, buying Mario Kart 8 and registering it on Club Nintendo before July 31st alows you to download one of four Wii U games for free, including The Wind Waker HD. Unfortunately, due to certain issues with Club Nintendo, ever since the release of Mario Kart 8, many people have been deprived of their free games. Nintendo has touched upon the issue on twitter.

We’re experiencing a high volume of traffic to #ClubNintendo. Thanks for your patience. #Nintendo— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) June 1, 2014
It is not surprising that Club Nintendo crashed. So many people on the site at once tends to cause that. Remember at Christmas time, so many people making Nintendo Network IDs all at once, and no one could get on the eShop? Some may think that what Nintendo said on Twitter is rather short and unhelpful, but what can they do other than wait for traffic to die down? Until it does, all those waiting for their free games will just have to wait.
What games are you guys going to choose? Will it be worth the wait? Leave a comment!
