Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 10.51.07 AMFor some of you the addition of the character, Linkle might have come as a surprise and if not a disappointment to you. But if I may be honest, for me I am quite excited. Although many of you might be thinking that I am excited for the wrong reason. For me, it actually has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she is a girl, I am simply excited about a new character addition — If I may be completely honest though, her weapons are pretty sweet too! I want to learn more about who she is and how she fits into the lore and storyline of the Zelda universe. Who is she, and what exactly is that thing she wears around her neck? Just yesterday we showed off some scans that came from this week’s Famitsu and featured a multi page spread dedicated entirely to Hyrule Warriors Legends. Within the glossy pages there was quite a bit of information shared about Linkle herself and how she fits into the story. We now have some translated information from that very article, so jump on in past the break and check it out.

From the translated information in the Famitsu article we learn a few new details about the latest character to enter the world of The Legend of Zelda.

Firstly, it would seem that she was a concept for what a “female version of Link” might look like that had already been considered during development, and since the artwork of her received such a positive response they felt the need to add her into the story, directly due to fan requests.

As far as Linkle’s background, she travels around helping those in need and has a very bright and cheery personality. She wears around her neck a very important compass that has been passed down since ancient times. She lives out her days with the desire be like the Hero’s of Hyrule. Linkle’s weapons of choice are a pair of crossbows. These allow her to attack in midair, as well as while moving, with a large amount of damage. If her attacks are fast enough she can send her enemies flying with an additional attack that uses bomb arrows. Plenty of knowledge will be shared in game about her large arsenal. There will be a separate story featuring Linkle that will serve as a behind the scenes look at her as a character and how she fits into the realm of Hyrule.

Exclusive to the 3DS version of the game will be the addition of The Wind Waker story that we have shared with you in the past as well as Linkle’s story. However all the characters will be playable in the Wii U version of the game including, Skull Kid and Midna, in her true form.

Several characters will be receiving new weapons in the game. Famitsu shows off a new Trident that will be wielded by Ganondorf. The new weapon is a three headed spear that will allow him to unleash rapid attacks and lightning attacks. All the new weapons added will be available in both versions of the game.

The more information released about this title the more excited I become! What about you? What are your thoughts about the new additions to the 3DS version of the game? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
