There are a lot of magical items in the Zelda series, but perhaps the ones taken most for granted are the bracelet and gauntlets that give you extra strength in Ocarina of Time. For some reason, “Goron’s Bracelet” and “Silver Gauntlets” didn’t stick in my head quite like “Power Glove” from A Link to the Past.

But if the gauntlets gave you a boost on more than just the really heavy stuff, then maybe we’d notice the difference. Hit the jump to read the comic!

I wonder if Link could adjust even to using the Golden Gauntlets. If he can throw huge pillars with them, then how strongly could he swing his sword or bash his shield?

This would make for an interesting game mechanic, not just in Zelda games, but every game too. Of course, that would mean the entire world would have to be more dynamic, to support the huge number of different scenarios that come with even small changes like the gauntlets. Perhaps in the future we’ll see more ideas like this implemented.

This comic of course comes from Brawl in the Family. If you’re interested in more comics featuring a plethora of Nintendo characters, check out their site.
