Beyond its own lineup of iconic franchises, Japanese game company Capcom is known for its collaborations with Nintendo on Zelda titles like Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords, and The Minish Cap. Who would’ve guessed that a prominent member of the modding scene would one day take a piece of this developer’s catalog and put it directly into a Nintendo 64 classic? That very thing happened recently, as modder Manikku announced on their X profile that The Legend of Iris: Zero in OOT is now available for download.

This Manikku-produced mod for the PC port of Ocarina of Time not only replaces Link with Zero from the Mega Man X series, but includes additional characters and assets from that franchise as well. According to the creator on the project’s official GameBanana page, this mod has been in the works for quite a few months, after originally starting as a simple player model replacement. As you can see in the video above, the time put in was well worth the effort. Notable changes in this mod include Princess Zelda being replaced with Mega Man X4‘s Iris, a smaller version of Zero representing a younger Link, X being Talon’s replacement, and Mega Man X series villain Sigma replacing Ganondorf.

This isn’t the end of this Capcom-focused project either, as Manikku says that, once more support comes in for The Legend of Iris: Zero in OOT, they hope to add additional features like sound mods, Zero’s moveset from his own series, different armors representing the multi-colored tunics, and more. The modder has even recently started adding patches as well. For players who want to add some Mega Man X to their Zelda diet, head over to the official GameBanana page for this project here and download it right now.
