hyrule-warriors-legends-art In an interview with 4Gamer, Hyrule Warriors Legends Producer, Yosuke Hayashi confirmed that the game will make use of stereoscopic 3D visuals but only on New Nintendo 3DS systems. He also confirmed that all DLC characters from Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U will be immediately available on the 3DS and that everything from the Wii U version of the game will be in Hyrule Warriors Legends except for Challenge Mode. A code will also be included with every copy of the game that unlocks Tetra, Toon Link, and the King of Hyrule on the Wii U version.

Additionally, Hayashi said that Amiibo are planned for use with this game but gave no further details, more characters have already been planned for later reveal, and DLC are being considered if there is enough fan demand. For more details from the interview, hit the jump!

Hayashi explained in the interview that this game was an opportunity he and his team couldn’t pass up, once they’d seen the fan demand for it. He also said that they wanted to make the 3DS experience as similar to the Wii U one as possible, this meant displaying as many enemies as possible on a much smaller screen. For this reason, stereoscopic 3D is disabled on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and Nintendo 2DS.

Also, the serial code that comes boxed with Hyrule Warriors Legends (that unlocks Tetra, Toon Link, and the King of Hyrule on the Wii U) was included so that players without Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U would be able to give the code away to players who do, but won’t be buying the 3DS version. Finally, Hayashi revealed that the game is almost complete and his team is just polishing things up to be ready for the January 21st release in Japan. Europe and North America will see the game out in early 2016.
