Thanks to the ingenuity of Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, we’ve already seen numerous odes to the Zelda series. From the Hyrule Castle of Ocarina of Time to shareable designs, the community is on fire. While there currently aren’t any plans to give Link to the Past a proper remake, you can still explore the Dark World in 3D thanks to the AH community. So grab on to your ears, it’s time to get hopping!

The video above, created by GameXplain, serves as a creator interview and in-depth tour of Animal Crossing player Nearlysquid’s island, which recreates the entirety of the Dark World from A Link to the Past. During the 30 minute tour, Nearlysquid shares how he created key elements of the island. He uses custom textures for rocks and plants, a small army of gnomes, and a whole lot of terraforming too.

Nearlysquid went above and beyond, even going so far as to recreate the overworld puzzles and mini games! In my opinion, the most genius bit is using villagers as enemies and other NPCs. I will never look at Lucky the same way again. All of this time and work came about because he watched a prior GameXplain episode featuring fellow AC creator Vayn’s recreation of the Light World.

So, what do you think about Nearlysquid’s recreation? Have you been creating your own favorite Zelda spots on your island? Show us your hard work in the comments!
