It’s hard to believe that it has been almost thirty five years since Link set out on his first adventure. Warned that it is dangerous to go alone by an old man and given his very first sword to accompany his courage, the small boy in green embarked on an adventure that players still remember today. At the time, Nintendo likely didn’t predict the longevity of the series or how much it would grow from the 1986 release.

In honor of the game that started it all, a fan-made hand-drawn guide for The Legend of Zelda has been recently announced. Hand-Drawn Game Guides has put together a sixty-four page, comprehensive guide to the enemies, dungeons, characters, and items within the classic game. It will also include an overworld map and will feature original artwork that captures the mythic spirit of the iconic fantasy-driven franchise.

Although there will only be a hundred physical copies available upon release — each priced $25 USD — a PDF version will be available for $1 USD. Both versions of the guide will be available for purchase on June 29th at Hand-Drawn Game Guides. And if you’re interested in other classic games guides, Ninja Gaiden and Contra books are also available from Hand-Drawn Game Guides.

Will you purchase a copy? Did you use a guide when playing The Legend of Zelda? Would you like to see a guide like this for other Zelda games? Let us know in the comments below!
