GameChops is Back With a Funk-Inspired Zelda Album
Posted on April 27 2024 by Heather Beard
Video game record label GameChops is back with more amazing The Legend of Zelda covers. Nashville-based composer and engineer Joshua Morse brings us a seven-track line-up in 16 bit SNES funk fashion. Tracks from this new Zelda Funk album include fan favorites from Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, and Twilight Princess.
GameChops has released several Zelda albums in the past, with one of their most popular being Zelda and Chill. Zelda Funk is definitely a fun new take on fan favorite Zelda songs in a style that I have never heard before.
My personal favorite is the funky new take on the Dark World theme from A Link to the Past. I always love when composers use their creative talents to breathe new life into some of our favorite pieces from our favorite games. The album is not very long and an easy listen, at a run time of nearly twenty-six minutes. It’s a fun listen and sure to bring a smile to your face, especially if you listen and watch the animations and visuals in the video. Link really knows how to bust a move!
Zelda Funk is musical album full of nostalgia, fun jams, and new take on old favorites. It’s a must-add if you like reimaginings of your favorite tunes from The Legend of Zelda. If you’d like to support GamesChops and Zelda Funk, you can stream and save the album on your favorite streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
