I was on a mission as I entered the dizzying luster that is my local bookstore. Not today, delicious pastries from the cafe. Get back from my sight, gorgeous but egregiously priced art books. Only one book was coming home with me that night, and it was volume five of the Twilight Princess manga.

If you haven’t given them a try, The Legend of Zelda manga are a fantastic read. The art is luscious, the team is given some liberties with the base story, and newer editions of the books come with full color pages. Of course, the manga aren’t the only comics out there. During the 90’s, American magazine Nintendo Power ran a full, original series based off A Link to the Past. Europe’s Club Nintendo saw their own, unique comic series as well. Sadly, comics related to more recent titles have been few and far between. Before Twilight Princess‘s release, the most we saw was the Skyward Sword prequel in the back of Hyrule Historia.

The above mentioned titles are just the  semi-official publications. There is a vast world of fan artists creating comics. Everything from long-running pieces of original content, to standalone, humorous jokes. No matter what you’re in the mood for—for example, way more Prince Sidon than you can handle—the talented fan community has you covered!

When you get a chance to unwind from the perils of daily life, which comic do you choose to read? Do you have a favorite comic creator? Which game would you love to see an official comic run of? Tell us all about it in the comments!
