Daily Debate: What Makes the Zelda Series So Special to You?

The Zelda series is an incredibly popular video game franchise, drawing in fans the world over. Whether you’ve been playing the games since the 80’s, or you’ve only entered the fandom recently, it’s likely that there is at least one thing that makes the series special to you, and we want to know exactly what that is!

There are so many great things coming from the Zelda universe. You might hold some very dear memories of playing your first game. It could be the awesome merch that can be added to your collection. Maybe it’s the fantasy element of the game’s design. Or perhaps it’s the music, which can pull on the tightest of heartstrings. It might even be the community itself, which inspires conversation and debate among those with similar interests to your own.

For me, it’s that feeling of escapism. When I adventure into Hyrule, I leave the real world and all its problems far behind. A weight is lifted somehow, and all that matters is playing the game. Whether I’m playing Breath of the Wild and taking a leisurely stroll through Lurelin Village, or it’s Ocarina of Time and I’m locked in a boss battle, I’m somehow completely content.
