Daily Debate: Were You Satisfied By Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct?
Posted on September 14 2017 by Rod Lloyd
Nintendo offered plenty of cool announcements and highlights during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct live event. We got extended looks at Pokémon: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Super Mario Odyssey, as well as multiple news headlines for other exciting titles hitting the Switch and 3DS in the next few months. From an overall perspective, there was plenty to be excited about.
But what about from a Zelda perspective? Well, we learned more about the Breath of the Wild Champions amiibo, such as the release date and functionality details. And Nintendo offered a few more details regarding the Zelda content present in the Switch version of Skyrim.
While these are notable pieces of news, there has been a pervading attitude that The Legend of the Zelda was a bit underserved during yesterday’s Direct. Many were hoping, at the very least, to hear more about second DLC pack for Breath of the Wild. And some even held on to the lofty hope that new handheld Zelda title or a Zelda spinoff would be announced. Unfortunately, we heard no mention of The Champions’ Ballad DLC, let alone a new game altogether.
Where do you stand? Were you satisfied or disappointed by yesterday’s Nintendo Direct? Were you hoping to see more Zelda than what was shown? What did you hope to see? Share your feelings in the comments below.
