With as much variety as the Breath of the Wild sidequests have, the extensive trading sequence sidequests featured in earlier games are notably missing. These types of quests are featured in Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Link’s Awakening, and all revolve around trading items to many different characters in a specific order. The sequential trading of items allows Link to receive great rewards while helping a number of side characters along the way, making these quests unique and enjoyable to complete.

For Breath of the Wild to not have this type of overarching, involved quest feels like a missed opportunity. The scope of the game is huge, and a trading sequence could have taken advantage of Hyrule’s size by being elaborate and including some great prizes for Link to obtain. In addition, it could have connected the world more by having characters in communication with each other and establish that, despite the chaos, people still work together  and help each other survive through trading items. Would you guys have enjoyed a trading sequence in Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments!
