From iconic weapons like Master Sword and the Hookshot, to classic weapons like Bombs and the Bow and Arrow, these items have become synonymous with the Zelda experience. There have been some variations over the years, such as the Rune Bomb and elemental Arrows like Fire, Ice, and Light, and it’s a smart way to reuse weapons while updating their utility in the series for puzzle-solving and combat. Personally, I’ve always had a soft spot for the Bow and Arrow and it’s been my go-to for many years. It’s fun to precision snipe items from a safe distance, and with arrows like Shock or Bomb, a nice way to do some additional damage. I also love the varied selection of Arrows players have access to now, such as Poison Arrows in Cadence of Hyrule that drain an opponent’s health, or Ancient Arrows in Breath of the Wild that deal extra damage to Guardians.

So with that in mind, what new type of Arrow could be added to Link’s arsenal in a future Zelda game? What if there were trick arrows that would have a different effect with each shot, like confusing enemies, petrifying them, or blowing them away from you with a gust of wind? Or maybe bring back the Silver Arrow, but instead of it being Ganon’s weakness, what if it restored some of your Hearts per shot? What if in Breath of the Wild 2, you could synthesize arrowheads with a Rune and create Stasis arrows to stop enemies dead in their tracks? I could go on, there are so many interesting possibilities!
