Daily Debate: How Do You Think Zelda’s Mother Died In Breath Of The Wild?

A prevalent struggle for Zelda in Breath of The Wild is the absence of her mother. The late queen’s death was described as “sudden and unexpected” in the journal of King Rhoam, which makes me wonder at the cause of her death. Because she died before Zelda was meant to start her training, as described in Zelda’s diary, I tend to think the Yiga Clan may have had something to do with it.
The Yiga Clan is an organization of disbanded Sheikah who despise the Hyrulean Royal Family and long for the revival of Calamity Ganon as a result. It would make sense that they would want to do anything to circumvent the assets of Hyrule, including the sealing power passed down among women in the royal family. Perhaps the assassination of the Zelda’s future mentor, whether by poison or more violent measures, was one of the ways they did just that.
